Length of assignment: 6 months
Overview
Consultant will act as subject matter expert for 2D graphics/image generation. Goal is to improve on the client's existing system by taking 3D datasets using a variety of volume rendering techniques and create robust 2D images.
Duties
- Develop improvements to techniques such as alpha compositing, raycasting, lighting models, non-linear transfer functions, coloring and shading. Implement visualization tools using available libraries and toolkits such as VTK, OpenGL, and Vulkan.
- Characterize and evaluate image quality and improvements by measuring parameters such as contrast to noise ratio as well as through numerical observers.
- Accelerate rendering and computation using the latest GPU hardware as well as through the use of drawing techniques such as multi-resolution rendering.
- Work with a dynamic team developing X-Ray imaging systems and threat detection software algorithms.

Because of the nature of the work involved, must be a US Citizen and be eligible for a future clearance. Background check required.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $75.00 - $85.00 per hour
