Freelance Residential Permit Draftsman - Bay Area
We are a permit services company based in San Jose, California, and we are looking to build relationships with experienced freelance Residential Permit Draftsmen throughout the Bay Area.
This is a project-based freelance opportunity. We are not seeking a full-time employee. We are looking for independent professionals who are available to take on projects as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Visit residential properties throughout the Bay Area
- Take accurate field measurements
- Photograph existing conditions
- Prepare residential permit plans and drawings
- Modify existing plans when needed
- Assist with permit-related drafting and documentation
- Coordinate with our team throughout the project process
Requirements:
- Must live in the Bay Area
- Experience measuring residential properties
- Experience preparing residential permit plans
- Knowledge of U.S. residential building codes
- Educational background in Architecture, Drafting, Architectural Technology, or a related field
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Chief Architect, Revit, SketchUp, or similar drafting software
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable and professional communication
Preferred:
- Experience working with permit services companies
- Experience preparing plans for city permit submissions
- Familiarity with Bay Area municipalities and permitting processes
Compensation:
- Paid per project
- Compensation varies based on project scope and complexity
