GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: To provide support services to Foster Care Youth, who participate in an Independent Living Program, contracted with the State of Michigan.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Teach independent living skills such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, banking and accessing community services;
- Meet with each assigned youth four (4) hours weekly;
- Document contact hours and activities with youth;
- Meet with school or youth employer to verify participation and attendance;
- Develop goals and treatment plan in conjunction with Case Manager;
- Attend and participate in trainings as assigned.
GENERAL:
- Completes all tasks and duties as may be assigned by the Federation;
- Complies with all Federation Personnel Policies and Procedures;
- Complies with all agency and program policies and procedures;
- Works on assigned committees and completing special projects, as assigned;
- Represents the agency’s programs and services in the community through interagency committees, organizations and public speaking, as assigned;
- Maintains assigned identification cards or any other assigned agency property. Informs supervisor immediately if assigned property is lost, stolen or broken; returns all assigned property in good repair upon termination of employment;
- Be able to work under stress, maintaining a positive approach to position and agency;
- Other duties, as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Associates' degree or 60 College semester hours of 95 quarter hours.
QUALIFICATIONS:
(1) State of Michigan Driver's License and safe driving record.
(2) State Police Record Check and Central Registry Clearance from DHHS.
(3) National and State of Michigan Sex Registry Clearance
