Traffic Safety Service, LLC has been and continues to be a leading manufacturer and distributor of traffic control devices, pedestrian safety products and services, making people, roads, and communities safer.
We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Class A CDL Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles to transport goods, maintain delivery schedules, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations efficiently and securely across designated routes.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles across local and regional routes.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and delivery documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips; report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure vehicle safety.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that arise during transit
Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving, minimum 3 years.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or other equipment; forklift certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of federal Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety standards for commercial drivers.
- Strong route-driving skills with the ability to plan efficient trips across multiple destinations.
- Physical ability to handle cargo loads and perform vehicle inspections; must be comfortable working in diverse weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 75lbs.
- Current NJDOT Medical card.
- Experience driving in Manhattan and Brooklyn a must.
Pay is commensurate with experience.
Pay: $26.00 - $34.00 per hour
