Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and guiding them through their shopping journey
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently for transactions, including cash handling and processing payments
- Assist with product demos to showcase features and benefits to customers, encouraging sales and upselling opportunities
- Maintain organized merchandise displays through stocking, merchandising, and rotating inventory to ensure an attractive store appearance
- Support the team with inventory management tasks such as stock replenishment and inventory counts
- Use strong phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone
- Collaborate with team members to meet sales goals and deliver a positive shopping experience for all visitors
Qualifications
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are essential
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers in both English and bilingual settings if applicable
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Experience with POS systems or familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities are advantageous for supporting team efforts
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks such as stocking for extended periods during busy seasons
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to create positive interactions with shoppers
