Position Title: Manual Machinist (non-exempt)
A&A Machine & Fabrication specializes in the manufacture of LDPE High Pressure
Piping, Pressure Vessels, Standard Piping, Syngas Burners and Process Skids. A&A is also a full service Machining facility, providing both Manual and CNC capabilities for the
Petrochemical Industry.
Position Summary:
Responsible for operating machine tools to produce precision metal parts. Produces small batches or large quantities of metal parts. Ensure products meet precise specifications
Duties:
· Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce metal parts.
· Review electronic or written blueprints or specifications for a job.
· Calculate where to cut or bore.
· Shape/Cut steel, aluminum, titanium, plastic, silicon and other materials.
· Determine how much material to remove.
· Select cutting tools according to grade of material.
· Plan the sequence of cutting and finishing operations.
· Mark the work piece to show where cuts should be made.
· Position work piece on the drill press, lathe, or milling machine.
· Monitor and control feed rate and speed.
· Ensure work piece is properly lubricated and/or cooled.
· Regulate temperature of work piece.
· Detect problems by listening for specific sounds.
· Adjust cutting speed to compensate for harmonic vibrations.
· Monitor the accuracy of cuts.
· Replace dull cutting tools.
· Check accuracy of work against blueprints and specifications.
Physical Requirements:
This position is required to have manual dexterity and the ability to maneuver parts in a rotating machine; this includes but is not limited to twisting, turning, bending, and stooping.
This position stands for 8+ hours a day; lifting and rotating 25 lbs on a continual basis.

Pay: $28.00 - $37.70 per hour
