Position Summary
United Christian Academy is seeking a detail-oriented, mission-driven Accounting Manager to execute the school's accounting operations including some Human Resources functions. This position plays an important role in ensuring the financial integrity and operational effectiveness of the school through accurate accounting, sound financial management, and exceptional service to our school community.
Working closely with the Head of School and leadership team, the Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, overseeing the school’s banking activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations. This position will also be responsible for Human Resources administration, including preparing and submitting payroll, employee onboarding and offboarding, benefits coordination, personnel records, and employment compliance.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Management
- Carry out all day-to-day accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate and timely financial records using QuickBooks.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Assist in developing and monitoring the annual operating budget.
- Manage cash flow and maintain positive working relationships with the school's banking partners and other financial institutions.
- Assist with the annual audit and maintain supporting financial documentation.
- Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and compliant with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
- Maintain effective internal controls and continually improve accounting processes and procedures.
- Ensure timely completion of all required financial reporting.
Human Resources
- Prepare and submit payroll through a payroll provider.
- Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding, including employment documentation and personnel records.
- Administer employee benefits and facilitate open enrollment.
- Support school leadership with personnel documentation and HR processes.
- Help cultivate a healthy, Christ-centered staff culture through responsive, professional, and confidential service.
- Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Customer Service & Administrative Support
- Serve families, staff, and vendors with professionalism, warmth, and a customer service mindset.
- Respond promptly and courteously to financial and administrative questions.
- Problem solve with families to assist in creating payment plans that will benefit families in the payment of their tuition.
- Build positive relationships while maintaining confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism.
- Support the daily administrative operations of the school through dependable, detail-oriented service.
Leadership
- Collaborate with the Head of School and leadership team on financial and operational matters.
- Provide timely financial information to support sound decision-making.
- Promote a culture of integrity, stewardship, collaboration, and excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Three to five years of accounting, bookkeeping, or financial management experience.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks.
- Experience with payroll, budgeting, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality while exercising sound judgment and discretion.
- A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and agreement with the mission, philosophy, and Statement of Faith of United Christian Academy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in nonprofit, Christian school, or ministry accounting.
- Experience with Human Resources administration, employee benefits, and personnel records.
- Familiarity with school information systems (FACTS) and HR software (iSolved).

- Salary Range: $55,000-$70,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
