American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool ICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and Epic proficiency, working nights at a major academic medical center in Ohio.

Critical Care Float Pool position within a large academic medical center hospital setting
-
Nurses float to a variety of ICUs based on staffing and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs (MICU x2), Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, MICU, and NCCU

Floating is required within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00–07:30)

Epic EMR proficiency required

Active OH or compact RN license required

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required

Proficiency with IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management required

Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred

2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the 2nd reference; co-worker references are not accepted

Local candidates are accepted

Former employees of the facility are eligible after a 6-month separation period

Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and must not exceed 7 days

Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be initiated promptly upon accepting the position — candidates outside Ohio may need to travel to a fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet
