Job Overview
Olympus Filters is seeking a skilled and resourceful Industrial Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing operations in Newton, Kansas. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automated production equipment. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex problems, fabricating custom solutions, and keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Direct experience with filtration equipment is not required. We value strong mechanical aptitude, fabrication skills, PLC troubleshooting experience, and the ability to quickly learn specialized manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, repair, overhaul, and rebuild industrial equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation-related issues.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to reduce downtime and improve reliability.
- Diagnose and maintain PLC-controlled equipment and automated systems.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and equipment modifications.
- Design and build custom fixtures, tooling, workstations, and production aids.
- Support installation of new equipment and process improvement projects.
- Maintain maintenance records and follow all safety procedures.
- Troubleshoot specialized manufacturing equipment, including material handling, forming, and adhesive dispensing systems.
- Assist with facility maintenance projects involving electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs.
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience troubleshooting PLCs, industrial controls, and automated equipment.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Preferred
- Industrial maintenance certification, technical degree, or equivalent training.
- Experience with automated manufacturing systems.
- Background in industries such as:
- Packaging or bottling equipment
- Plastics processing
- Wire forming or roll forming
- Printing or press operations
- Millwright or heavy equipment maintenance
- Tool & die or machine shop environments
- Adhesive dispensing systems and heated process equipment

Physical Requirements
This position requires standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing, kneeling, crawling, and working around manufacturing equipment in a production environment. Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, and moderate-to-loud noise levels is expected.

Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
