Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pipefitter to join our dynamic construction and maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining piping systems across various projects, ensuring all work complies with safety standards and industry codes. Your expertise will help deliver reliable plumbing, HVAC, fire sprinkler systems, and pipeline solutions that meet project specifications and client expectations. Responsibilities
- Interpret construction plans, schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to accurately install piping systems according to specifications.
- Cut, thread, assemble, and weld pipes using techniques such as MIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG welding, and pipe welding to ensure secure joints.
- Fabricate pipe components through bending, soldering, tube bending, and other fabrication methods to meet project requirements.
- Install pipe systems for plumbing, HVAC, fire sprinkler fitting, and pipeline applications while adhering to ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes & standards and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely for cutting, grinding, threading, and fitting pipes on construction sites or manufacturing environments.
- Perform routine maintenance or repairs on existing piping systems to ensure ongoing safety and functionality.
- Follow all safety regulations and protocols diligently while working on construction sites or industrial facilities; maintain a clean work environment.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately; utilize calipers and other measuring tools for precise fabrication.
- Collaborate with team members on rigging, assembly, installation of sprinkler systems or HVAC piping systems in compliance with all safety guidelines.
Requirements
- Proven experience in pipefitting within construction sites or manufacturing environments; familiarity with construction plans and schematics is essential.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, FCAW, TIG welding, pipe welding, soldering, pipe threading, tube bending, and fabrication techniques.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to plumbing systems, HVAC piping, fire sprinkler fitting, pipeline installation, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately using schematics and blueprints; experience with ASME codes & standards preferred.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as calipers along with power tools used for cutting, grinding, threading or assembly tasks; power tool safety knowledge is required.
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations involved in pipe fabrication and installation processes.
- Knowledge of safety regulations including NFPA standards; committed to adhering strictly to safety protocol guidelines at all times.
- Construction site experience or manufacturing background highly desirable; familiarity with rigging practices is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive attitude towards safety and quality assurance.
