Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Forklift Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment, including forklifts, construction machinery, and industrial equipment. Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on forklifts, cranes, excavators, tractors, and other heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics, diagnostic tools, and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.
- Conduct repairs including engine diagnostics, transmission servicing, brake repair, suspension work, welding, and component replacement.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and maintenance logs for all equipment serviced or repaired.
- Assist with equipment assembly and installation of new machinery or upgrades in compliance with safety standards.
- Support heavy lifting operations safely using appropriate techniques and equipment to prevent injury or damage.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a heavy equipment mechanic or service technician with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery maintenance including hydraulics, electrical systems, transmissions, HVAC systems, and diesel engine repair.
- Skilled in electrical diagnostics, automotive diagnostics, schematics reading, and troubleshooting complex equipment issues.
- Familiarity with OEM parts and specifications for Caterpillar, Farm Machinery, or similar brands is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, excavators, cranes or tractor-trailers safely and efficiently.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment and soldering techniques required for repairs.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions; commitment to safety protocols at all times.
