Duties
- Greet clients warmly, schedule appointments, and manage client check-in and check-out processes using veterinary software.
- Answer phone calls promptly, address inquiries about pet health, appointment availability, and clinic services with clarity and professionalism.
- Assist with medical collections, billing procedures, and processing payments accurately while maintaining confidentiality.
- Support veterinary staff by handling front desk administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and managing patient records.
- Facilitate client communication regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up appointments to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Provide kennel experience support by assisting with animal husbandry, animal restraint, and basic pet care during visits.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring compliance with aseptic techniques and safety protocols in accordance with USDA regulations and DEA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficient computer skills including; navigating systems, effective email communication skills, creating and saving documents
- Ability to handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques; kennel or animal husbandry experience is desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and correspondence purposes.
- Knowledge of animal anatomy, surgery procedures, companion animal medicine, and medical-surgical practices enhances your effectiveness in this role.
- Prior experience in veterinary clinics or animal handling environments is preferred; familiarity with veterinary terminology is a plus.
