Exciting Entry-Level Maintenance Role Waiting for You at a Long-Standing Local Company!
Do you like working with your hands? Are you interested in getting your foot in the door in the maintenance field? Neighborhood Properties in Charlottesville is looking for someone ready to jump into the apartment maintenance industry. Must be eager, a hard worker, efficient, and a quick learner. You will begin by performing basic maintenance tasks such as changing filters, testing smoke detectors, replacing lightbulbs, etc. Great opportunity for growth and room for training in more advanced maintenance tasks.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to maintain the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition for the safety and enjoyment of our tenants.
The schedule initially for this position is Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Once trained, technicians participate in a rotating on-call schedule as well.
Skills
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and other systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Able to lift 50 pounds by yourself
- Must bring basic hand tools
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Clean driving record required - NO DUI/Reckless convictions within the past 5 years. (Insurance liability).
- Must be able to pass drug test and criminal background check.
