Travel OB Tech
Location: Anchorage, AK 99508
Duration: 13 weeks with possible extension
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
We are seeking an experienced Travel OB Tech to join our healthcare team in Anchorage, AK. This is a 13-week travel assignment with the possibility of extension.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide surgical and clinical support to the OB/GYN team during labor, delivery, and surgical procedures.
- Prepare and maintain the operating room, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist with maintaining a sterile field and follow all infection-control and safety protocols.
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons and other members of the surgical team during procedures.
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and C-sections.
- Provide support during gynecological procedures, including D&E, D&C, tubal ligation, vaginal repair, and hysterectomy.
- Ensure appropriate surgical instruments and supplies are available before and during procedures.
- Assist with room turnover and proper cleaning and organization of equipment and supplies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow facility policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals in a fast-paced OB/GYN environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent OB/GYN experience required.
- Previous experience working in an OB/GYN or Labor & Delivery setting.
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist certification required.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Current NRP certification required.
- Strong knowledge of OB/GYN surgical procedures and sterile technique.
- Ability to work efficiently and remain calm in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Procedures Performed
The unit performs a variety of OB/GYN procedures, including:
- Vaginal deliveries
- C-sections
- D&E
- D&C
- Tubal ligation
- Vaginal repair
- Hysterectomy
