TMJ Sleep Airway Orthodontics is a premier specialty practice dedicated to airway-focused orthodontics, sleep-disordered breathing, TMJ treatment, and advanced orthodontic care. We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and detail-oriented Orthodontic Assistant to join our growing team.
Responsibilities
- Assist the doctor during orthodontic procedures
- Prepare patients for treatment and provide exceptional chairside care
- Take digital impressions, intraoral scans, and diagnostic photographs
- Take and process digital radiographs and CBCT imaging (where permitted)
- Place and remove orthodontic appliances as permitted by state regulations
- Educate patients on appliance care, oral hygiene, and treatment expectations
- Sterilize instruments and maintain treatment rooms
- Maintain accurate clinical records
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative team members to create an outstanding patient experience
Qualifications
- Previous orthodontic or dental assisting experience preferred
- Current certifications required by New York State
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude with a strong team mentality
- Comfortable learning new technology and treatment techniques
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented
- Passion for providing exceptional patient care
Experience with the following is a plus:
- Invisalign
- Traditional braces
- Palate expanders
- Airway-focused orthodontics
- iTero digital scanning
- CBCT imaging
- Cloud 9 Orthodontic Software
