Overview
We are seeking an experienced dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the USCG SECTOR HUMBOLDT BAY 1001 Lycoming Ave McKinleyville, CA 95519, twice per week, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. MUST PASS BACKGROUND CHECK, and have RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, break rooms, and common areas
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing and waxing as needed
- Handle waste disposal and recycling in accordance with company policies
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks and facilities upkeep
- Ensure that cleaning supplies are stocked and report any maintenance issues to management
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning practices and equipment
- Knowledge of floor care techniques, including buffing and waxing
- Experience in industrial cleaning or facilities maintenance is a plus
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions
