Full Job Description

What We Offer:

The Safety Attendant provides one-on-one observation of selected patients for the purpose of identifying behaviors which are potentially hazardous to self or others in accordance with facility policies and procedures; reports needs and concerns to licensed nurse.

What We're Looking For:

Education: High school or GED, required.
Experience: Previous hospital experience, preferred.
Licensure/certification/registration:
- De-Escalation Techniques (within 90 days of employment), required.
- Life Support Responder (within 90 days of employment), required.
- Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) Training (within 90 days after completion of De-Escalation Training), required.
Additional Skills/Requirements (required):
- Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing as applicable. Is knowledgeable regarding guidelines for infection control, body substance precautions, patient safety, and body mechanics.
- Maintains acceptable standards set by those guidelines.
- Ability to work with all age group patients or act as a companion. Basic computer skills for documentation.
