Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant Full Time to join our dynamic PRIVATE dental practice Mon-Thurs 7:30am to 5pm in South Carlsbad. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting the dental team in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Xray certification is REQUIRED.
Unfortunately, our current assistant is moving out of the area.
Duties
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing four-handed dentistry support.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring all instruments and materials are ready for use.
- Take and digital radiographs as directed by the dentist.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix software
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and assist with ordering when necessary.
- Requirements
- Proficiency in medical terminology and dental terminology is essential
- Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic techniques.
- Previous experience in dental assisting is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant qualifications is a plus.
