Job Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Procurement & Supply Chain to lead all procurement, sourcing, inventory management, and supply chain activities for our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the cost-effective acquisition of PET resin, packaging materials, molds, equipment, and other critical production resources while maintaining uninterrupted supply to support business objectives. The Director will develop and execute sourcing strategies, optimize inventory and working capital, manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and provide market intelligence related to PET resin and related raw materials. This individual will collaborate closely with Operations, Finance, Production, and Executive Leadership to align procurement activities with company growth objectives
Duties
Supply Chain & Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels and establish strategies to optimize stock levels while minimizing carrying costs.
- Manage material planning processes to ensure uninterrupted production and customer fulfilment.
- Collaborate with operations and production teams to align procurement activities with production schedules and forecasts.
- Analyze supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions.
PET Resin Market Management
- Monitor PET resin market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply availability.
- Develop purchasing strategies based on market intelligence and forecasted demand.
- Maintain strong relationships with resin suppliers and industry contacts to secure competitive pricing and reliable supply.
Financial & Operational Performance
- Conduct spend analysis and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Manage procurement budgets and contribute to working capital optimization initiatives.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
- Cost savings
- Supplier performance
- Inventory turns
- On-time delivery
- Supply continuity
- Working capital utilization
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with senior leadership to support strategic business planning and growth initiatives.
- Work closely with Operations, Finance, Logistics, and Production teams to ensure alignment across supply chain activities.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and supplier partnership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience managing procurement or supply chain functions.
- Strong knowledge of raw material sourcing, inventory management, and supplier relationship management.
- Experience negotiating complex supplier agreements and contracts.
- Strong analytical, financial, and cost management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the PET resin, plastics, packaging, or related manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of resin procurement, commodity markets, and supplier networks.
- Experience supporting capital equipment sourcing and manufacturing expansion projects.
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience.
Pay: From $135,000.00 per year
