Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals according to menu plans, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting nutritious and appealing options that meet dietary needs
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Contribute to food preparation and cooking, utilizing knife skills and culinary techniques to produce appetizing dishes
- Support catering events or special meal services, ensuring timely delivery and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment in compliance with health regulations
- Provide friendly, attentive service to residents or guests, including serving meals and assisting with dietary requests
Experience
- Previous experience working in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is highly preferred
- Hands-on kitchen experience in restaurants or the food industry will be advantageous
- Familiarity with menu planning, food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices is essential
- Experience with food handling, meal preparation, and serving in a fast-paced environment is desirable
- Knowledge of catering services and restaurant operations will support your success in this role
- Strong knife skills and culinary experience are important for efficient meal preparation
- Prior work involving food service or kitchen experience will help you excel in maintaining high standards of quality and safety
