Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Installer Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. Duties
- Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems according to schematics and HVAC design specifications
- Perform routine maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure efficient operation and longevity
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC/R equipment, electrical systems, plumbing connections, and refrigeration components using hand tools, ohmmeters, welding equipment, and other diagnostic tools
- Conduct electrical diagnostics to identify issues with electrical systems associated with HVAC units
- Repair or replace defective parts such as compressors, fans, thermostats, sensors, and control panels
- Assist with the installation of property maintenance systems including ventilation ducts and mechanical piping
- Ensure all work complies with EPA regulations for refrigerants and safety standards while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining system operations and maintenance procedures clearly to clients
- Maintain detailed records of service performed, repairs made, and parts used for each project
- Operate a <PERSON> driver vehicle safely when transporting equipment or materials between job sites
Skills
- Construction experience combined with hands-on service technician expertise in HVAC/R systems
- Strong knowledge of schematics, HVAC design principles, mechanical systems repair, and building automation systems
- Proficiency in plumbing and electrical diagnostics necessary for comprehensive system troubleshooting
- Experience with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC system installation, maintenance, and repair processes
- Skilled in using hand tools, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic devices effectively
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately for system installation or troubleshooting
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and professionalism
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s license with a clean driving record for safe transportation duties
- Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in electrical or mechanical fields are a plus
- Familiarity with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems is advantageous
