Our speciality is creating unique designs that embodies a cohesive look and feel for the entire event. This often means using a combination of unique materials and printing methods to create a one-of-a-kind product and service.
We are seeking a vibrant, passionate, independent, trouble-shooter production graphic artist to oversee print production. This position is ideal for a freelancer / independent contract worker.ssional, agile and innovative. The right candidate will oversee our print workflow, from the initial phase of reviewing approved proofs to final stages of print production. This includes the following:
Responsibilities:
- Typesetting final wording to already conceptualized designs.
- Creating files for proofs for client review
- Reviewing approved proofs for corrections on fonts, typography, image alignments, and technical errors
- Imposing of files for print production, including digital, foil stamping, letterpress printing, UV printing, etc.
- Preparing files for bindery production, including laser cutting, die-cutting.
- Preparing variable data files for envelopes and other stationery pieces– Hours will vary weekly between 5-10 hours, depending on jobs on the docket and the season, and may be subject to change with up-front communication timelines assigned to each project
- Create visually appealing graphics and designs for various mediums including web, print, and signage
- Collaborate with clients or internal teams to understand project requirements and objectives
- Utilize content management systems to update and manage website content
- Conduct typesetting and formatting for documents and publications
- Manipulate photos to enhance or modify images as needed
- Works closely with the Print Production Manager and Team
Skills/Requirements:
- At least 6 years of experience in graphic design
- Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Professional Acrobat)
- Mac Platform knowledge a must
- Strong typographic and color skills
- Basic knowledge on Microsoft Suite, Google Suite
- Knowledge in different printing processes (digital vs. letterpress) is useful, willing to learn
- Meticulous attention to detail: good eye for press-checks, spelling, and quality control
- Organized on and off screen
- Work effectively under deadlines
- Able to keep up with fast-paced, ever-changing work flow
- Good communication skills within company
- Willing to troubleshoot on their own when prompted with issues
- Multi-tasker, knowing how to push projects along and prioritize effectively
- Have good foresight and planning abilities to execute tasks at hand
- Strong understanding of web design principles and best practices
- Knowledge of layout design techniques for both digital and print media
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment
- Note: Prior experience in print production design is a plus.
The position is remote and does not require working in our office setting. It will require the candidate to have their own computer and Adobe Creative Suite software to operate in this capacity.
