About the Role
Aloha Junk Man is a growing junk removal and hauling business built on reliability, hustle, and customer obsession. We're scaling fast — and this hire is the structural linchpin that makes everything else possible.
Right now, our CEO carries the only strategic thread in operations. That changes with you! As the Operations Director, you own the day-to-day and the long game: building the systems, running the crews, tracking the numbers, and making sure we scale without breaking.
This is not a role for someone who needs a playbook handed to them. You'll write the playbook.
---
Why This Role Matters
Without this hire: The CEO is the only strategic thread in ops. No documented SOPs. Scaling is reactive. KPIs tracked inconsistently if at all.
With you in place: The CEO operates at the strategic level. SOPs, dashboards, and accountability are in place. The 4-crew scaling plan is built and executed. Weekly scorecards drive decisions.

Core Responsibilities
Operations Systems & SOPs
- Own and build all SOPs for field operations, dispatch, safety, fleet maintenance, and customer delivery
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements that increase throughput and margin
- Establish and enforce standards that hold up as the team scales from 2 to 4 crews
KPI Ownership & Reporting
- Build and manage weekly/monthly KPI dashboards tracking: crew productivity, job completion rate, revenue per truck, and AR aging
- Deliver a weekly operations health scorecard to the CEO — clear, concise, and actionable
- Own the numbers. Know them. Drive the team to hit them.
Crew Scaling & Team Management
- Build and execute the 4-crew scaling plan: hiring sequence, training ramp, and equipment timeline
- Manage the Field Operations Lead day-to-day; conduct performance reviews in partnership with the CEO
- Identify and onboard the Dispatch/Scheduling Coordinator (Priority 3 hire) — own that search and selection process
Fleet & Vendor Management
- Own fleet maintenance strategy end-to-end: coordinate with vendors, track maintenance schedules, reduce repair costs
- Proactively catch maintenance issues before they become downtime
---
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 5+ years of operations management experience in field services, logistics, or a service business
- Proven track record building SOPs and accountability systems from scratch — not inheriting them
- KPI-driven: comfortable with dashboards, reporting tools, and holding teams to measurable outcomes
- Strong people manager — coaches with respect, holds the line when needed, earns trust through consistency
- Builder, not maintainer — thrives in a growing company without corporate infrastructure or hand-holding
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, blue-collar field environment with boots-on-the-ground moments
---
What Success Looks Like
30 Days: You've shadowed every role, mapped the current operation, and identified the top 3 bottlenecks. The field team knows what to expect from you.
60 Days: Core SOPs are drafted. KPI dashboard is live. Fleet maintenance tracker is running. You've begun the Dispatch Coordinator search.
90 Days: Weekly scorecard cadence is established. 4-crew scaling plan has a timeline and owner. The CEO is no longer the operational single point of failure.
