Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, vital signs, and medical history reviews to inform diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and manage treatment regimens in compliance with state and federal regulations, including DEA guidelines.
- Perform advanced wound care procedures and debridement
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical records, and billing information.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, specialists, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Engage in telehealth consultations and outpatient services to expand access to care for diverse populations.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects to advance evidence-based practices within the organization.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with current certification from recognized accrediting bodies.
- Demonstrated experience working in complex medical environments such as critical care units, emergency rooms, hospital medicine, or outpatient clinics.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, or similar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
- Experience with specialized procedures like botulinum toxin treatments for aesthetic or therapeutic purposes is a plus.
- Familiarity with CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and utilization review processes for accurate billing and documentation.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively across age group coordinate care accordingly.
- Additional skills in behavioral health management, hospice & palliative medicine, infectious disease care, occupational health, or memory care are advantageous.
