A well-established skilled nursing facility near Mount Vernon, IL is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team. This leadership role is ideal for a motivated RN with a passion for long-term care, clinical excellence, staff development, and resident-centered outcomes.
The DON will oversee all nursing operations, ensure regulatory compliance, support quality improvement initiatives, and foster a positive, team-oriented culture.
Provide leadership and oversight for the nursing department in a skilled nursing/long-term care environment
Ensure compliance with CMS, IDPH, and all federal/state regulations
Oversee clinical operations, infection prevention, quality measures, and survey readiness
Lead and develop RNs, LPNs, and CNAs
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve resident outcomes
Manage staffing, scheduling, and departmental performance
Support quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
Active Illinois RN license required
3–5+ years of leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care
Prior DON or ADON experience preferred
Strong understanding of CMS regulations and survey process
Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills
Experience with EMR systems and clinical quality reporting preferred
