Duties
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process retail sales transactions, including fuel purchases, convenience store items, and gift cards
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions securely while maintaining accurate cash handling procedures
- Upsell products and promotions to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities
- Stock shelves, merchandise products neatly, and ensure the convenience store area is clean and organized
- Conduct product demos when needed to promote new or featured items
- Maintain phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or in person
Requirements
- Previous retail sales or cashiering experience preferred, especially in grocery stores or convenience retail environments
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing
- Strong communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs effectively
- Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and retail math to support store operations effectively
