Pre-Op / PACU RN — Brand New Surgery Center Opening in Irving
**Sphere Surgery Center | Irving, TX | Full-Time & PRN | No Nights, No Weekends, No Call**
---
Be one of the first nurses through the door.
Sphere Surgery Center is a brand new multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center opening this fall in Irving. We're building our clinical team from scratch — which means the RNs we hire now will help shape workflows, run the first mock cases, and set the standard for how this center operates.
We're looking for **experienced ASC nurses who are comfortable in both Pre-Op and PACU**. In a center our size, you'll admit a patient in the morning and recover one an hour later. If you like variety, autonomy, and actually knowing your patients and your surgeons by name, this is your kind of place.
Specialties: Pain Management · Orthopedics · Spine
What You'll Do
- Screen, admit, and prepare patients for surgery — chart review, IV starts, pre-op meds, patient and family education
- Recover patients through Phase I and Phase II, managing airway, pain, nausea, and hemodynamics
- Recognize and respond quickly to post-anesthesia complications
- Discharge patients using objective criteria and complete follow-up calls
- Flex between pre-op and PACU based on the day's case flow
- Help us prepare for state licensure and AAAHC accreditation surveys
What You Need
- Active Texas RN license (or compact privilege)
- **2+ years perioperative RN experience, including at least 1 year in an ASC**
- **Cross-trained and competent in BOTH Pre-Op and PACU** — able to work either assignment independently
- Current BLS and ACLS (AHA)
- Solid IV skills and confidence recovering patients from MAC, regional, and general anesthesia
- The judgment to work in a setting without a rapid response team down the hall
Nice to Have
- CAPA or CPAN certification
- Pain management, ortho, or spine experience
- HST Pathways or eClinicalwork (eCW) experience
- You've been part of a new ASC opening before
Why Sphere
- **Real work-life balance** — weekday schedule, no call, no nights, no weekends, no holidays
- **Ground-floor opportunity** — your input shapes policies and workflow, not the other way around
- **Small, tight team** — you'll know every surgeon, every CRNA, and every colleague
- **Modern facility and technology** from day one
