Overview:
Le Lycée Français de San Francisco seeks a dynamic, collaborative, and forward-thinking
Mathematics teacher to join our Secondary School team for the 2026-2027 School Year. You will
teach in the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP): specifically the IB
mathematics courses Analysis & Approaches and Applications & Interpretations. You will help
foster a passion for mathematics in students aged approximately 11-18, leveraging inquiry-based,
concept-driven learning, and developing inclusive, differentiated experiences in a diverse
international school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality mathematics instruction in MYP and DP (AA and
AI) that aligns with the IB framework, U.S. standards, and the school’s mission.
- Design units and lessons that promote conceptual understanding, mathematical
reasoning, problem-solving, and real-world application of mathematics.
- Use assessment data (formative and summative) to inform instruction, give timely and
constructive feedback, and support student agency and growth.
- Apply inclusive instructional practices (such as Universal Design for Learning and
differentiated instruction) to meet the needs of a diverse learner population.
- Embed opportunities for student reflection, metacognition, and self-regulation of
learning.
- Work collaboratively with the Mathematics department and cross-disciplinary teams to
co-plan, align curriculum vertically/horizontally, and share best practices.
- Engage with the broader school community — students, parents/guardians, colleagues,
and administrators — to foster positive relationships and a culture of belonging.
- Actively contribute to the life of the school: student advising, extra-curricular activities,
Open Houses, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, grades, and communications, and stay
current with IB mathematics developments and best practices.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred.
