Position Overview
This is a hands-on installation role primarily responsible for delivering and installing headstones at cemeteries throughout Washington and Oregon. You will work in a structured shop environment, prepare monuments for delivery, coordinate logistics, and complete installations at cemeteries.
You will load monuments and installation equipment, drive company trucks to cemeteries, offload and install granite monuments, and ensure each monument is placed, leveled, aligned, secured, and completed correctly.
When installations are not scheduled, you will assist with monument production, material handling, staging, loading, equipment maintenance, and general shop work at our Sumner facility.
You will be trained on our installation procedures, equipment, and monument-handling methods. No prior monument installation experience is required.
What You’ll Do
Delivery & Installation
- Drive company trucks, including stake-bed and lift-gate trucks
- Load, transport, and install monuments
- Move monuments weighing several hundred pounds using dollies, carts, hoists, telehandlers, and other specialized equipment
- Ensure proper placement, leveling, and alignment
- Work with cemetery staff during installs
Scheduling & Coordination
- Schedule deliveries and installations
- Coordinate LTL shipments
- Track job readiness and deadlines
Inventory & Equipment
- Track incoming/outgoing monuments
- Maintain equipment and report issues
Shop & Production
- Manufacture, handle, and stage monuments for production and delivery
- Operate equipment (forklift, overhead hoist systems)
- Maintain a clean, organized shop
This role is for you if:
- You prefer hands-on, physical work and are comfortable lifting, digging, driving, and working around heavy equipment
- You follow procedures, prioritize safety, and complete detail-sensitive work correctly
- You are reliable, punctual, and productive without constant supervision
- You are comfortable with long days, regional travel, outdoor conditions, and assisting in the shop when needed
- You are comfortable driving throughout Washington and Oregon and occasionally doing long distance trips
This role is not for you if:
- You want primarily desk-based, indoor, or low-physical-effort work
- You are uncomfortable driving trucks, traveling to job sites, or working outdoors in changing weather
- You struggle with early start times, attendance, dependability, or maintaining a steady pace
- You rush detailed work, need constant direction, or are unwilling to help in the shop between installations
Requirements
- English
- No prior monument experience required
- Experience in construction, warehouse, or manufacturing required
- Comfortable operating or learning: Forklift, Overhead hoist systems
- Ability to lift and handle heavy materials daily
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Strong attention to detail and safety
- Basic organizational and scheduling ability
