This is not a typical live-in arrangement with just a private room and utilities. The regular scheduled shifts are three days per week (total 24 active working hours). This role includes a fully private furnished studio apartment plus groceries, utilities, phone, parking, and other covered living expenses. Compensation includes weekly salary of $364 PLUS an estimated $500+ per week in employer-provided housing and covered living expenses (consisting of private apartment, covered utilities and groceries).
Important: This is not a commute-only job, and the apartment is not just for use during the scheduled shift. The caregiver must live on-site full-time in the provided private studio apartment.

Base Pay: $364/week ($1577/month) W-2 pay for the 12-hour Sunday shift + two half-day sifts (Tues/Fri or Mon/Thurs). Additional hourly pay for extra shifts and active on-call assistance.
Housing: Fully private studio apartment included for full-time 24/7 living
Living Expenses: Rent, utilities, groceries, household essentials, internet/streaming, cell phone/service, and parking included
Additional Coverage: Occasional additional paid coverage may be needed, but you are not expected to be constantly available
Additional Pay: Extra shifts and active on-call assistance are paid separately at an additional hourly rate
About the Care Position
You will provide 1:1 care for one female client in her 70s recovering from a stroke. Care is provided in a private attached suite within the main residence. This is not a facility role.
This position is part of a small 3-caregiver team. The other two caregivers each work regular 3-day-per-week schedules, and this position covers the Sunday shift plus additional support for two half-day shifts (Tues/Fri or Mon/Thurs).
You are not expected to be constantly available or to be the automatic backup for everyone. However, because this is private 1:1 care for a client who cannot be left unattended, all live-in caregivers are expected to have reasonable flexibility to assist with occasional coverage when needed (at an additional hourly rate).
Schedule & Compensation
Sunday Shift (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
Sunday is a solo caregiving shift, during which you will independently provide one-on-one care for the client. Responsibilities Include:
- Companionship
- Transfers using gait belt
- Dressing, toileting, grooming, and other ADLs
- Meal preparation
- Laundry and light caregiving-related household support
- Maintaining a calm, safe, attentive care environment
- Communicating clearly with the care team
- Only one caregiver is scheduled to work this Sunday shift, so the caregiver must be comfortable with transfers and working independently.
Two Half-Day Support Shifts (Tues/Fri or Mon/Thurs from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
The two half-day support shifts are for the caregiver to work alongside the other caregivers to perform duties that are more easily completed by two caregivers such as showers. Time is also reserved for grocery inventory/shopping/stocking. Responsibilities Include:
- Companionship
- Transfers using gait belt
- Bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, and other ADLs
- Maintaining a calm, safe, attentive care environment
- Communicating clearly with the care team
- Grocery shopping (with provided credit card)
- Performing inventory and stocking of shared large pantry area
- Ensuring client's apartment is fully stocked with food, paper goods, and other supplies (from the on-site pantry area)
Saturday Night Light On-Call
This position includes light Saturday-night on-call monitoring before the regular Sunday shift. This mainly involves monitoring a baby monitor to make sure there are no safety issues with the client overnight. Overnight assistance is uncommon. If hands-on assistance is needed during the on-call period, that active care time is paid separately at an additional hourly rate.
Compensation
- Base W-2 Pay: $364/week, payroll ran weekly ($1,577/month) for the regular Sunday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM plus two half-day shifts (Tues/Fri or Mon/Thurs 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM).
- Additional Shift Pay: Extra approved shifts are paid separately at an additional hourly rate.
- On-Call Active Care Pay: If hands-on assistance is needed during Saturday-night on-call monitoring, active care time is paid separately at an additional hourly rate
- Paid PTO and sick time
Provided Studio Apartment and Covered Major Expenses
The caregiver will live in a fully private studio apartment located in a detached guest house on the property. The apartment is separate from the main home and intended for comfortable full-time living.

The provided private studio apartment is for the caregiver’s full-time 24/7 residence. It is not just a place to stay during the working shifts. This does not mean you are working 7 days per week. It means you live on-site full-time, work your regular Sunday + two half-day shifts (Tues/Fri or Mon/Thurs), provide light Saturday-night on-call monitoring, and maintain reasonable flexibility for occasional additional paid coverage.
For the right person, this can create a much higher real-world value than the scheduled three-days-per-week wage alone because it elimiates major living expenses.
The apartment is for the employee only. No additional residents and no pets.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be local to the Phoenix/Scottsdale area at time of application
- Must be available for one of the two fixed schedules
- Must be comfortable with the live-in arrangement
- No additional occupants or unauthorized guests in the apartment
- Must have at least two years of prior professional senior caregiving experience. Prior facility experience strongly preferred.
- Must be available for light Saturday-night on-call monitoring
- Must have reasonable flexibility for occasional additional paid coverage
- Must have strong transfer experience using a gait belt required
- Must be able to safely perform a pivot transfer using a gait belt with an approximately 130 lb woman.
- Must have experience with bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility assistance required
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Valid driver’s license required
- Reliable transportation required, personal vehicle preferred
- Able to pass background check and drug screen
- Comfortable around dogs and cats
- No pets in the provided apartment
