Reporting to the Senior Associate Director of Affinity Networks, the Associate Director of Alumni Engagement is responsible for managing affinity-based alumni events and programs. Affinity-based events and programs are defined as events or programs organized by and for groups of alumni with a shared interest or experience. Events may be in person on or off campus, as well as virtual. Affinity examples include, but are not limited to, geographic location, corporate affiliation, student organization affiliation, and professional industry. The position is responsible for managing volunteers and committees working on specific programs or events. This position will strategically develop programs, activities, and communications to connect, serve, and engage alumni within various affinities. This position will respond to alumni inquiries and proactively identify alumni groups to engage.
- As part of a university-wide corporate engagement strategy, this position will support the Senior Associate Director of Affinity Networks to create and execute engagement opportunities for alumni working within key Charlotte area corporations.
- This position is responsible for developing and executing a strategy for growing engagement among alumni affiliated with Greek student organizations. This will include data collection and management processes related to student organization involvement.
- This position plays a key role in managing the corporate and Greek engagement strategies within University-wide initiatives, including Niner Nation Week, Niner Nation Gives, and Niner Nation Serves.
- This position is also responsible for serving as the Alumni Engagement liaison with the Athletics department and will manage athletics-related events such as watch parties, away game tailgates, and conference tournament events.
- This position will conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with alumni to deepen awareness about involvement opportunities and strengthen their connection with the University.
- Other duties as assigned by the Associate Vice Chancellor of Alumni Engagement, Director of Alumni Engagement Programming, and/or Senior Associate Director of Alumni Networks.
- This position will collaborate with development officers, the University Career Center, Athletics, Admissions, University Communications, the Director of Corporate Engagement and Strategic Sponsorships, and other campus partners to engage alumni.
- This position includes significant night and weekend obligations related to volunteer meetings and network events.
