Job Summary
DNS Engineering Limited Company is building a flexible network of independent contractors to perform mobile, on-site vehicle inspection assignments for passenger vehicles and light-duty trucks.
This is an independent contractor opportunity for individuals with automotive knowledge, mechanical experience, inspection experience, or related field experience. Assignments may include documenting vehicle condition, capturing required photos and videos, completing inspection forms, performing basic operational checks, and submitting inspection findings through provided digital workflows.
This role is field-based and assignment-driven. Contractors work independently at vehicle locations such as dealerships, repair facilities, auction locations, commercial lots, or private seller locations. Work availability depends on inspection demand in the contractor’s local service area.
Duties
- Perform mobile, on-site inspections of passenger vehicles and light-duty trucks.
- Document visible vehicle condition using photos, videos, written notes, and required inspection forms.
- Verify and document basic vehicle information, including VIN, mileage, tire information, labels, and visible equipment.
- Perform non-invasive visual and basic functional checks of accessible vehicle systems.
- Capture diagnostic scan information when required and when proper equipment is available.
- Document visible fluid condition, tire condition, brake observations, underbody condition, exterior condition, interior condition, and basic feature operation.
- Identify and document observed abnormalities factually without performing repairs or invasive diagnosis.
- Upload inspection media, completed forms, and notes according to assignment instructions.
- Communicate professionally with DNS Engineering regarding assignment status, access issues, documentation needs, and completion.
Experience / Qualifications
Automotive mechanical knowledge or related vehicle inspection experience preferred.
Experience as a technician, mobile mechanic, service advisor, warranty inspector, auction inspector, fleet inspector, claims inspector, or mechanically skilled vehicle enthusiast may be helpful.
Ability to work independently and follow written inspection instructions.
Ability to capture clear, well-lit photos and videos using a smartphone.
Ability to complete basic digital forms and upload inspection media.
Reliable transportation required.
Professional communication and attention to detail required.
Ability to perform and document basic diagnostic scan results is required for most vehicle inspection assignments. Contractors should have access to a capable OBD-II / diagnostic scan tool or be willing to obtain approved equipment before accepting scan-required assignments.s.

This is an independent contractor opportunity, not a full-time employee position.
This role does not involve performing vehicle repairs, maintenance, or teardown.
This role does not certify vehicle safety, roadworthiness, emissions compliance, or future reliability.
Inspection assignments are offered based on location, availability, client demand, and assignment requirements.
Contractors are expected to document observed conditions factually and follow assignment-specific instructions.
