The McGregor Company serves growers in Washington, Idaho and Oregon with the seed, crop inputs, equipment, services, research, and advice needed to raise healthy, sustainable crops.
Purpose of Position:
Responsible for financial and operational reporting. Ongoing analysis of financial data and the preparation of financial models for decision support. Manage the budgeting and forecasting process.
Essential Functions:
· Update and verify financial data within accounting system.
· Maintain records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial records within company.
· Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements.
· Manage the preparation of financial reports and budget documents.
· Manage and oversee the annual Operating Budget and Capital Budget.
· Evaluate current capital expenditures, depreciation, and related analysis.
· Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimization.
· Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
· Perform complex, specialized accounting duties related to accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing/inventory, account balancing and analysis, revenue, and payroll.
· Maintain and innovate accounting computer systems as requested.
· Responsible for special projects to improve process efficiency and performance.
· Regularly backup the responsibilities related to Year-end, Manager Meetings, Special Discounts, and Rebate Processes.
Other Functions and Occasional Requirements:
· Perform month-end close tasks.
· Understand and regularly review key business drivers.
· Maintain Access databases necessary for business functions.
· Perform market research, data mining, and business intelligence.
· Perform semi-annual and annual reporting requirements.
Education Requirements: (Degrees, Certifications, Licenses, etc.)
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
Experience:
· 3-5 years as Financial Analyst or related position
· Exceptional system skills with Excel, Access, MS Office, PowerBI
· Knowledge of how to work with large amounts of data to develop scalable financial reporting solutions
· Agriculture industry experience preferred
