Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across regional and national routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Transport a variety of freight including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized equipment
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using forklift or roll-off truck equipment when necessary
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT standards
- Manage route driving logistics, including planning optimal routes for timely deliveries and pickups
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports throughout each shift
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues on the road
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on commercial driving standards
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks with a strong understanding of tractor-trailer handling
- Experience handling refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is highly desirable
- Skilled in load & unload procedures for freight of various types and sizes
- Ability to perform route driving efficiently while maintaining safety at all times
- Familiarity with forklift operation and other loading/unloading equipment preferred
- Excellent driving record with knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols
