Position Overview Great Lakes Recovery is seeking a compassionate and skilled Detox Nurse to provide nursing care and clinical monitoring for individuals undergoing withdrawal from alcohol and/or other substances. The Detox Nurse plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety, administering medications, monitoring withdrawal symptoms, and supporting individuals during the early stages of recovery.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct and Monitor withdrawal symptoms using evidence-based tools (e.g., CIWA-Ar, COWS). Oversee the self-administration of medicationsas ordered by medical providers. Monitor vital signs and patient status throughout detoxification. Monitor for medical complications and ensure patient safety. Document patient care and progress in the electronic health record. Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health staff, and peer recovery specialists. Provide patient education related to detox, withdrawal, and treatment options.
Required:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Michigan.
