Job Summary
Join our team as an Over-the-Road (OTR) Truck Driver hauling refrigerated (reefer) trailers across the country. In this role, you will operate tractor-trailers to transport temperature-sensitive freight efficiently and safely, ensuring timely deliveries to various destinations. This is a touch freight position — drivers are responsible for unloading pallets at delivery locations. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers hauling refrigerated trailers across extensive routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Monitor and maintain proper temperature settings on reefer units throughout transit to ensure freight integrity
- Physically unload pallets at delivery locations using pallet jacks, forklifts, or by hand as required — this is a touch freight position
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle and reefer unit condition, including brakes, lights, tires, trailer connections, and refrigeration systems
- Plan optimal routes for timely deliveries while managing driving hours in compliance with federal regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery schedules, temperature concerns, and any issues encountered during transit
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery documentation
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a focus on route driving and freight delivery
- Experience hauling refrigerated trailers and maintaining proper temperature controls
- Ability and willingness to unload pallets at delivery stops — must be comfortable with physical freight handling
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety standards, and regulations governing commercial driving, including hours of service
- Previous experience with long-haul freight transportation is highly preferred
