Construction Superintendent / Field Engineer – Civil & Building Projects
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent / Field Engineer to oversee both vertical building and civil infrastructure projects. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage field operations while providing strong project engineering support. The ideal candidate has experience in commercial or institutional building construction as well as heavy civil/public works, including roadway construction, asphalt paving, concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter, underground utilities, and site improvements.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily field operations and supervise subcontractors and self-performed work.
- Coordinate construction activities to maintain project schedule, quality, and budget.
- Read and interpret civil, structural, architectural, and MEP drawings.
- Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, punch lists, and as-built drawings.
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, utility companies, and public agencies.
- Oversee roadway construction, asphalt paving, concrete sidewalks, ADA improvements, grading, drainage, and underground utility installations.
- Manage commercial and institutional building construction from site work through project completion.
- Conduct site meetings, safety meetings, and progress reporting.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract documents, building codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety standards.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with project planning and constructability reviews.
- Monitor quality control and ensure work is completed according to plans and specifications.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in construction supervision, field engineering, or project engineering.
- Proven experience managing commercial or institutional building construction projects.
- Proven experience with heavy civil/public works projects, including:
- Road construction
- Asphalt paving
- Concrete sidewalks
- Curb and gutter
- Underground utilities
- Site improvements
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and scheduling.
- Ability to read and coordinate civil, structural, architectural, and MEP drawings.
- Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, QA/QC, inspections, and project documentation.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Microsoft Office, or similar construction management software is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.

Compensation: DOE (Depending on Experience)
Pay: $68,242.25 - $82,184.22 per year
