Duties
- Assist attorneys with case file organization, document review, and management using legal case management systems such as MyCase.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case development
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence with meticulous attention to procedural law requirements
- Manage document production and review processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court deadlines
- Coordinate client interviews, witness statements, and expert consultations to gather essential case information
- Maintain detailed records of case activities, correspondence, and procedural steps to ensure seamless workflow
- Support attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trial by organizing exhibits and evidence
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of insurance defense procedures and litigation processes across general & commercial litigation cases
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis is a plus
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with legal administrative systems including MyCase
- Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents; proofreading and transcription abilities are essential
- Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research and apply procedural law knowledge accurately
- Superior organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry, filing, and document review processes
- Exceptional clerical experience including phone etiquette, administrative support, and file management
- Ability to perform legal document review efficiently while maintaining high accuracy standards
