Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Pre-Post-Op Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing quality patient care. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and make a difference in the lives of our patients.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Admitting and preparing patients for surgery
- Verifying patient identity, surgical site, and procedure in compliance with safety protocols
- Maintaining strict aseptic and sterile techniques to prevent infection
- Monitoring patients’ vital signs and overall status before and after procedures
- Administering medications as directed, including ophthalmic drops, IV fluids, and pre/post-op medications
- Collaborating with anesthesia providers to ensure safe patient care
- Safely discharge patients and provide post-operative instructions
- Completing all required documentation in accordance with facility policy, NJDOH regulations, AAAHC standards, and federal guidelines
- Participating in quality assurance, infection prevention, and safety initiatives within the ASC
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (required)
- Current RN license in New Jersey (required)
- Previous perioperative or ophthalmology experience preferred
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, and assessment skills
