Owner Operator Trucking Recruiter Manager

JOB SUMMARY : The responsibility of the Owner Operator Recruiter will be to recruit qualified Independent Contractors for an established trucking company specializing in Open Deck (RGN, Step-deck & over dimensional) freight. The manager will report directly to the President.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Recruit and retain the best and safest open deck, RGN, step-deck Owner Operators in the industry.
- Work with management regarding company recruitment goals.
- Conduct day-to-day recruiting activities in accordance with company guidelines and policies.
- Understand and be able to clearly communicate the benefits of Diamond Transportation System, Inc., expectations and capability to deliver open deck freight, while maintaining the safety and security of the shipment at all times.
- Develop a pool of qualified applicants through the use of applications, cold calling, social media, networking, job fairs, trade shows, internet postings.
- Create and meet realistic growth expectations.
- Pre-qualify all applicants and if deemed a good fit, move them (in accordance with company policy) to the next stage in the hiring process.
- Complete all needed DOT required background checks, verifications and other qualification criteria efficiently and thoroughly.
- Work with applicants to gather needed information that will assist in completing applicant process.
- Supervise the orientation process.
- Minimal travel
Qualifications
- Experience in recruiting and retention of Owner Operators. Preferably in a specialized hauling operation.
- Must have exceptional verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of applicants.
- Solid computer skills – Microsoft word, excel, outlook, applicant tracking system knowledge a plus. Experience working with McLeod software is a plus.
- Must be a team player with organizational and problem solving skills.
- Knowledgeable in FMCSA Regulations, compliance and transportation is a must.
- Needs to be able to work without supervision, be able to follow instructions and meet deadlines. Have the ability to multi-task.
