Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Life Enrichment Coordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in our senior living community. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for senior care, with experience in program development, recreational therapy, and event planning. As a vital member of our team, you will design and implement engaging activities that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and overall well-being, fostering a vibrant and inclusive environment for residents.
Duties
- Develop and coordinate diverse recreational programs and resident events tailored to the interests and needs of seniors, including those with memory care requirements.
- Build meaningful rapport with residents through personalized engagement and attentive communication, ensuring their individual preferences are respected.
- Collaborate with staff members across departments to integrate therapeutic activities that support residents’ physical, emotional, and cognitive health.
- Manage scheduling of activities and events efficiently to maximize participation and resource utilization.
- Maintain records of resident participation, feedback, and progress to continually improve program offerings.
- Lead team efforts in creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere that encourages social interaction and community involvement.
- Stay informed on best practices in geriatrics, dementia care, and assisted living to ensure programs meet current standards and enhance residents’ quality of life.
Requirements
- Proven experience in assisted living or long-term care environments with a focus on senior or memory care populations.
- Strong background in recreational therapy, program development, and event planning within geriatric settings.
- Familiarity with dementia care strategies, Alzheimer’s care techniques, and working with individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging residents, families, and team members effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, scheduling, and reporting purposes.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience coordinating resident activities and managing team efforts.
- Knowledge of aging issues counseling, geriatrics best practices, and home & community care services is highly desirable.
