Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Direct Support Staff member with proven Group Home experience under the 245D licensing framework.
(2-4 years of 245D Group Home Experience Required)
This role involves providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities, including those with mental illness. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a respectful, engaging, and empowering environment that enhances individuals' quality of life.
Duties
- Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols while maintaining detailed documentation.
- Monitor individuals’ vital signs and overall health status, reporting any changes or concerns promptly to healthcare professionals.
- Support individuals in engaging in social activities, community outings, and recreational programs to promote socialization and mental stimulation.
- Maintain a clean, safe living environment by performing routine cleaning tasks and adhering to infection control standards.
- Provide specialized care for individuals, implementing EUMR and CPI strategies tailored to individual needs.
- Collaborate closely with team members, families, and healthcare providers to develop and implement personalized care plans that respect each individual’s preferences and goals.
Skills
- Proven experience working in group homes or long-term care settings under 245D licensing requirements. (2-4 years of 245D Group Home Experience Required)
- Strong knowledge of Direct Support Staff practices, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring.
- Ability to assist with ADLs efficiently while maintaining dignity and respect for the individual’s independence.
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with effective communication abilities for working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.

Pay: $11.47 - $28.00 per hour
