Position Title: Regulatory Compliance Specialist
This role offers an opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to contribute significantly to regulatory compliance efforts within a dynamic environment. The Regulatory Compliance Specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to USDA regulations while facilitating innovation and operational excellence. This position is essential for coordinating regulatory processes, preparing documentation for regulatory submissions, and developing nutritional panels and ingredient statements. The successful candidate will navigate the complexities of compliance while managing multiple projects and priorities effectively. This position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and detail in all regulatory matters.
Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000/ Year DOE
Responsibilities:

Implement and track changes to existing and new products, including formulas, ingredients, and labeling.

Obtain and maintain current label approvals, including the submission of label applications.

Track and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and develop dashboards using reporting tools.

Provide support to the Product Development team.

Stay updated on FDA/USDA label regulations and changes, and navigate the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).

Ensure compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) 204 Traceability Regulatory requirements.

Implement changes efficiently and cost-effectively.

Support various departments involved with regulatory affairs.

Participate in the SQF audit process.

Learn and navigate online databases for customer specifications and labeling submissions.

Maintain product specifications across all facilities.

Utilize software to generate nutritional panels and ingredient statements.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

5+ years of experience with USDA regulatory labeling practices.

HACCP Certification is required.

Ability to manage multiple specification sheets simultaneously.

Excellent analytical skills.

Familiarity with submitting labels to FSIS.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Experience with ERP systems.

Understanding of nutritional and ingredient statements, packaging layouts, and relevant regulations.

Knowledge of various claims labeling, such as gluten-free and vegan, is preferred.
