This position is located in Bel Air (90049) and requires regular on-site attendance.
We are hiring a compassionate and dependable Behavioral Health Counselor / Group Facilitator for a small adult residential mental health program in the Bel Air area.
This role is ideal for someone with mental health, behavioral health, residential treatment, crisis support, or group facilitation experience who enjoys working directly with clients in a structured and supportive setting.
Location Requirement: This position is fully in person in the 90049 area. Reliable commute to Bel Air is required.
What You’ll Do
- Lead or support mental health groups focused on coping skills, psychoeducation, emotional regulation, wellness, recovery, and life skills
- Support clients with daily routines, structure, and program expectations
- Monitor client well-being and help maintain a calm, safe environment
- Use verbal de-escalation and crisis support skills when needed
- Complete accurate documentation and shift notes
- Communicate client updates or concerns to the clinical and leadership team
- Assist with daily residential program operations
Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in mental health, behavioral health, residential treatment, counseling, or related care setting required
- Group facilitation experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable supporting adults with significant mental health needs
- Strong communication, boundaries, documentation, and follow-through
- Calm, reliable, professional, and team-oriented
- Must be able to pass Live Scan/federal background clearance
- Must be able to provide professional references
Schedule
Full-time day shift: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Schedule options may include Sunday–Thursday, Tuesday–Saturday, or Friday–Monday.
Compensation
$23–$27 per hour, depending on experience.
