American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring an active CA RN license and 2 years of L&D experience with no on-call obligations.

Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a community-level hospital with 100-200 births per month
-
Manages low-risk and high-risk antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum patients
-
Utilizes External and Internal Fetal Monitoring (EFM), IUPC placement/calibration, and NST
-
Performs triage of obstetrical patients and assists with vaginal and C-section deliveries
-
Administers Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and other labor-related medications
-
Provides neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation

Epic charting system experience required

Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30

No call requirements

No blocked or self-scheduling available

Active, unencumbered CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)

Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NRP

AWHONN Advanced certification preferred

Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required

Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required

Prior travel nursing experience required

Epic EMR experience required and must be documented in work history

Two supervisor references required, including at least one from the L&D unit within the past year
-
Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum stages including high-risk pregnancy management

Assist with surgical procedures including circulating and scrubbing for C-sections
-
Support newborn care including breastfeeding assistance, newborn assessments, and discharge teaching
-
Manage complex obstetric conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, placenta previa, and VBAC trials
-
No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO preferred per 13-week contract
-
All RTO requests must be submitted upfront and cannot be changed once under manager review

Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate

Previous employees must have a minimum 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
