Overview
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will contribute to the creation of high-quality products and custom fabrications that meet rigorous safety and quality standards. Duties
- Safely handle and transport materials using equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, and dollies
- Manage inventory and organize workstations efficiently
- Interpret engineering drawings, work orders, and instructions to determine fabrication requirements and processes
- Set up and operate various fabrication equipment including saws, drill presses, and shears to produce metal components and sub‑assemblies
- Perform quality fabrication including layout, fit‑up, and tack welding according to specifications and tolerances
- Execute GMAW, GTAW, FCW, or SMAW welding techniques to meet engineering specifications and quality standards
- Conduct quality checks on completed welds and projects, making necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with blueprints and specifications
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures when operating equipment and moving materials
- Ability to properly setup and prioritize functions related to welding assignments
- Ability to weld various types of metals
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) / Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC), plus three (3) years experience as a welder/fabricator, or completion of AWS Welding certification; or equivalent combination of education and experiences
- Ability to perform Metal Inert Gas (MIG), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and acetylene welding
- Ability to perform stick, arc, and flux core (FCW) welding
- Advanced blueprint/part drawing reading comprehension skills
- Ability to extract and comprehend information from complex drawings and use the data to construct fabrications
- Advanced understanding of spatial reasoning orientation in two-dimensional and three-dimensional spaces, case and effect, heat conduction, velocity, gravity and force
- Apply accurate mathematical and arithmetic calculations of whole numbers, decimals and fractions including conversions, addition, subtraction, multiplying, dividing and an understanding of geometric shapes and angles
- Ability to obtain and maintain industrial vehicle (e.g. forklift) certification(s)
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Stand and walk on concrete floors, use hands, reach, talk, hear bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- The team member must occasionally lift and/or move items up to 100 pounds and frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds
- Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team on complex fabrication tasks.
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts such as overhead cranes, vibration and moving vehicles
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
