Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in special education and experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities and autism. This role involves creating a supportive learning environment, implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), and utilizing various therapeutic techniques to enhance student learning and development.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- At least 12 ECE units and 6 months of experience in a licensed childcare center or similar program.
- (6 ECE units accepted if enrolled in 2+ additional units each semester until completion.)
- Ability to sit, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- CPR/First Aid and Non-Crisis Intervention certifications preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
- Utilize behavioral therapy techniques and applied behavior analysis to support student learning.
- Conduct data collection and maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior.
- Provide patient care and conduct assessments to evaluate students' educational needs.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to create a comprehensive support system for each student.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding medical documentation and confidentiality of student records.
- Participate in diagnostic evaluations to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement.
- Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages social skills development and peer interaction.
- Operating a company vehicle on highways/freeways
Experience
- Proven experience working with children, especially those with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Background in special education or related fields is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records, intake processes, and behavioral health practices.
- Strong understanding of patient assessment techniques and the ability to implement individualized care plans.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with students, families, and colleagues.
