Midwest Foods is a family owned wholesale food distributor providing top quality food products to food establishments in Chicago, surrounding suburbs, Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana. We import fruits & vegetables from all over the country our growth by selecting staff that will enhance our company's mission to provide quality service and products. Midwest Foods is currently hiring C Class Delivery Drivers.
Shift: 1st (start time between 2:00AM-6:00AM); Work Monday - Saturday, with Sundays and 1 random weekday off.
Responsibilities:
- Make deliveries in a timely and safe manner, following the MOD routing
- Unload the truck using Pallet Jack and Two Wheeler
- Maintain communication with MOD during deliveries, communicate any issues/delays
- Inspect truck tires, lights, brakes, fluids and fill out pre-inspection sheet
- Bring back to the warehouse signed invoices
- Clean truck at the end of the shift
Requirements:
- Must have a valid Class C License, with a clean driving record
- Must pass the DOT Physical Test
- Pass a drug screen and background check
- Minimum 2 years driving experience
- Must be able to work Saturdays
- Able to read a map/GPS and get to the accounts in a timely manner
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Able to handle clients with diplomacy and tact
- Capable of following instructions and procedures
- Recognize and understand product names and UOM
- Lift/carry/pull/push product up to 60 lbs.
- Good reading/writing skills
