Bar Capri is a cozy, intimate Italian restaurant and cocktail bar known for warm hospitality, exceptional food, and handcrafted drinks. Our goal is to make every guest feel like family, whether they’re joining us for a quick aperitivo or a lingering, memorable dinner.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a welcoming, polished, and personable Host/Hostess to be the first and last impression for our guests. You will set the tone for the dining experience by providing a warm welcome, managing reservations and waitlists, and coordinating smooth seating flow. In our small setting, attention to detail and personalized service are key.
Looking primarily for Thursdays/Fridays/Saturdays
Responsibilities:
- Greet every guest warmly upon arrival and sincerely thank them upon departure.
- Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists with efficiency and grace using our reservation system (training provided).
- Maintain an organized and accurate floor chart to maximize seating without rushing guests.
- Communicate effectively with the bar and kitchen to manage guest flow.
- Offer recommendations, answer basic questions about the restaurant and menu.
- Create a welcoming atmosphere in the entryway and throughout the dining room.
- Monitor guest needs throughout their visit and assist with any special accommodations.
- Help flip/reset tables
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional host stand and front-of-house area.
Qualifications:
- Previous hosting or customer service experience preferred but not required.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, polished, and friendly demeanor.
- Ability to stay calm and organized under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
