Overview
We are seeking a diligent and dependable Store Housekeeper to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment within our store and warehouse facilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong custodial skills, experience with cleaning and maintenance procedures, and a commitment to safety protocols. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a welcoming shopping environment while supporting the operational efficiency of our business.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning of store and warehouse areas, including floors, fixtures, and surfaces using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and sanitation tools.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following established chemical handling safety procedures.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks in accordance with safe lifting practices to move furniture, supplies, and other materials.
- Maintain cleanliness of storage areas, ensuring proper organization of inventory and supplies.
- Operate custodial equipment efficiently to ensure floors are buffed, polished, and maintained at high standards.
- Assist with general facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs, painting, and upkeep of the premises.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents or injuries during cleaning or maintenance activities.
- Support customer service efforts by maintaining a clean environment that enhances the shopping experience.
Skills
- Proven cleaning, custodial or janitorial experience with some knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures. Residential style cleaning is used for the majority of the store display.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as mops, dusters and sanitation tools.
- Ability to handle chemical agents safely following safety protocol adherence.
- Experience with manual handling and heavy lifting using safe lifting practices.
- Strong attention to detail in sanitation and cleanliness standards.
- Basic facilities maintenance skills including minor repairs and residential painting.
- Excellent organizational skills combined with a proactive approach to safety and cleanliness.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
